Overview
Analysis of data collected by the National Safety Council, insurance carriers and various government agencies indicates that about one-third of all work-related injuries are back overexertions from lifting and carrying. These injuries account for about 40% of all workers’ compensation payments and lost workdays. Overexertions from lifting and carrying are a significant source of injuries in our own workplaces as well.
Objectives
This training session will identify some of the causes of back injuries from lifting and carrying. We will also review planning for safe lifting, and we’ll demonstrate the steps in proper lifting technique.
